I was given these a few weeks ago. Was told they are girls, but https://www.backyardchickens.com/content/type/61/id/6009539/width/no eggs. any way to tell from pictures how old they might be? Thanks!!350/height/700[/IMG]
We have been given 2 ducks, 2 fainting goats, and 13 chickens- one roo, the rest are hens. Saturday we are planning to transport them to our house, about a 25 minutes drive. I really think one of the hens is sitting on some eggs, b/c one, Rene told us there were probably a BUNCH of eggs in there...
Thanks, the little guy was out riding his bike today, he bounced back real fast :) I guess I will try dry incubating one last time before just saying to heck with it.
The last SEVEN times,I used the dry hatch method. One chicksurvived each hatch. I have an LG, and have gotten good results in the past, with different parents, which is why i think that a hen/roo switch up might be a logical nec=xt step.
NO external pips, but from looking at cells,I would say ALL pipped and died internally. I am soooooooooooooo sick of every hatch since LASTJuly ending no or only ONE live chicks. I think it's time to seriously evaluate my hens. These are allone year olds, noreason that they shouldn't be able to...
Thank You. My 10 yr old is having his gallbladder out in about 3 and a half hours, and knowing my luck, the fuzzies will start pipping and all today. They aren't "due" til the 7th, but we all know how that goes, lol.
Air cell is a bit small. humidity now is at 25 percent at lockdown. I know humidity should be higher, but with smaller cells,is it safe to raise humidity?
LOL, I broke an egg in my bra. Thankfully just dented the egg, so no yolky mess. I think the lowest temps were 72. Powe was out nealy 10 hous. The highest I could get temps in bator was 84. I just put the eggs in yesterday, any chance at all that they could survive?
2 chicks survived the powe outage last week. yeaterday i set 39 more. 4 am, i noticed my cpap wasn't working. no power again. temp dropped to 72. odds of surving? still no power tried adding hot water in jars to bator, have as many as bra will hold
We were without power for about 6 hours last night, eggs dropped to 75. I put them in my hoodie at around midnight, and by 2 am, they were 84 degrees. The power came on at that point, so I put them back into the incubator. I candled a few this morning, and see movement. BUT, what does this mean...

I think the worst part of the video when I watched it was the head being torn off. I mean, she has to be super woman to do that. The other part that gacked me out was when she ate those eggs. Were they even washed off first?
