Isn't she? I think her plumage is one the prettiest of all the EEs I've had. I had her name picked out before I got her (Galena is a lead silver ore) and I think it fits her perfectly.

Thanks! The seemingly endless sunny days we've had this year have been nice, but as a photographer I do look forward to some clouds like we had today!

Dog Pooping on Floor at Night

Yep, there is no set amount of food to give. It all depends on the dog and the food. I use this dog food calculator to get a starting point then adjust the amount based on how my dogs look. I change the amount of feed my dogs get frequently, often daily. When they get treats or are sedentary...

Dog Pooping on Floor at Night

Well, I like quiet, so I don't encourage any barking and certainly no whining. My Boston will pretend she needs to go outside just to get my attention. I'll open the door but she switches to asking for something else. If I hear barking at the door I know it's an emergency.

Dog Pooping on Floor at Night

I generally don't allow my dogs to verbally ask for things as it can turn into annoying whining for attention. My dogs do not bark or whine to ask to go outside unless they REALLY have to go and I somehow wasn't paying attention to their body language. They paw at the door or guide me to the...

Dog Pooping on Floor at Night

I agree it's probably caused by a health issue. But I wouldn't assume she can't learn to ask to go out.

Dog Pooping on Floor at Night

@BigBlueHen53 is right, you cannot correct a behavior long after it has happened. I have to admit I've never had a dog that didn't learn to ask to go outside. But what I am thinking is keep her by your side all day. I would NOT ask her to go outside regularly and instead catch her trying to...

Dog Pooping on Floor at Night

That's too bad. Maybe it's an allergy, maybe not. It's really difficult to find out. Like I said earlier, I also have a dog with chronically soft stool (she also came from a not-so-good breeder who sold her to her first owner when she was less than 8 weeks old 😠). I tried many different...

Have you tried putting her on a bland boiled chicken and rice diet? I think there is something in her food that her stomach does not agree with.

Question of the Day - Tuesday, October 14th, 2025

I love chair rail with wainscoting. It looks a little weird if it's installed by itself, though, and the color below the chair rail is the same as the color above.

<UPDATE Resolved!> Quick question: New Run Build, Post Depth

Concrete does not adhere to cured concrete. It must be tied together with rebar. It appears you can pour the concrete footing at 3.5', install a post connector in/on the footing, attach the post, then backfill. However, I'd worry about the metal connectors rusting.

You're welcome! Since it is concrete I would definitely put soft bedding down. Hay and straw are both fine. I also would put food in there as well as their supplements. Having hay on their stomach before going out to pasture helps prevent bloat.

I'm not sure a bell is necessary and it could make it worse. I have a nervous dog and I tried teaching her to use a bell, but she was very scared of it because it was loud.
