I never knew hens would adopt babys after they were a day old exspecially if they did not go broody first. Susie is beautiful for the longest time i looked for silkies or mixes of silkies. Only for the broodiness and there cute aswell but apparently my girls are pretty broody witch is unexpected.- sex links

Ok my hen gave up on her 5 week old chicks and went broody again. She took my other broody hens 11 eggs that are about 2 weeks in. And one of my other hens took up the responsibility of keeping the chicks safe from the other chickens bullying them.- sex links

Thx the chicks are doing well i dont really have to worry about the warmth of the chicks because they have belly and wing feathers and its stays pretty warm here. I will definitely keep a good eye on the chicks thouge. The two broodys are healthy. If they both stay broody i will divide the eggs...- sex links
