I never knew hens would adopt babys after they were a day old exspecially if they did not go broody first. Susie is beautiful for the longest time i looked for silkies or mixes of silkies. Only for the broodiness and there cute aswell but apparently my girls are pretty broody witch is unexpected.
Ok my hen gave up on her 5 week old chicks and went broody again. She took my other broody hens 11 eggs that are about 2 weeks in. And one of my other hens took up the responsibility of keeping the chicks safe from the other chickens bullying them.
