    Well, today is day 3 on the Brahma Cockerel's quarantine, & still no sign of illness. He's more happy though. Gets excited to see me when I open the greenhouse.

    I just received a 7 month old Brahma Cockerel from a breeder 2 days ago. He's going through a quarantine period regardless. The breeder said disease free, but regardless you must take precautions if they are, because there's a slight chance they might be hiding something.

    Splash X Black = 50% Blue. 50% Black. Pictures of the parents are always helpful? The lighter chick looks like a splash so maybe the hen is actually a dark blue.

    There's hens of different breeds with them. At 6 months he's passed the successful introduction period. The younger the better with these guys.

    Separate him in a cage? No matter what breed, should never just put a new bird in a coop without proper introduction first. There should always be a month long quarantine period as well before introduction.

    Yes, it is, fairly common. Even one of my Malays hens has spurs. I've even got a Largefowl Chinese Silkie hen with spurs, which she grew at 6 months. I had 3 spurred Silkie hens, 2 didn't survive the trip.

    Those are indeed chickens. Better picture for clear identification of breed. The first look like either a Cream Legbar, or maybe some Cream Legbar/EE cross.
