@azygous For both do you or anyone reading, my girl is pale four days after surgery. Things seem to be doing pretty well but not sure why she's pale. Advice or reasoning?
I'm thinking of keep her separate during the times when they would be together in the enclosed run but still have them all out together range? I wonder if that would help reset things after a couple of days?
I'm afraid I may have let her eat too much tonight. Her crop is moderately full after her bedtime meal. Is that bad? Do I need to keep her crop fullness at a minimum? Surgery was two days ago.
One of my hens passed away recently and her closest friend did a lot of calling out for her and was clearly anxious. She did not get to see the body, which I believe was a big mistake on my part. Then, another of my hens has been sicka and had crop surgery so is away from the flock. Between both...
The ve
Thank you! Not sure why I didn't think of yogurt. So it doesn't have to be LIQUID, just soft foods, even at first? I wonder if applesauce would be ok?
My hen had crop surgery this morning but isn't eating yet. Advice? What sorts of foods can I give? Vet doesn't want to send her home since she snot eating yet so she's staying the night there. But I wonder if I can do more with her at my home.
If this were to work, how quickly would you expect to see a reduction in the size of a hard playdough-like crop?
Also, is it ok to tube feed the mixture into her crop to ensure she's getting it?

My goodness. Ok. Im struggling to understand how an avian vet could be so wrong. And feeling I screwed up horribly because the hen who died went to her. :( I have so much guilt.
Thank you all for all your help, every one of you
I have peppermint flavored and fruit I read peppermint could be toxic but seems to be the standard Tums flavor. Vet said to get "original" or "plain" but I haven't seen that at Kroger or Walgreens.
Ok. Thank you. I've had issues with one vet and then giving super low dosing and then another giving seemingly correct dosing of meds. The lesser wise vet gave me this led but said 1 ml once a day. Oy oy oy.
