International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

Thanks! I always thought the standard aimed for medium single, but there seems to be a pretty wide range for medium single.

I wanted to show this guy's head. I like it best out of the other cockerels this year.

I could always get you hooked on heritage turkeys. There is a distinctive lack of turkey breeders everywhere and I would like to encourage more of them.

This cockerel has a ways to grow, and it looks like a squabble took the front part of his comb, but his color is good and nice silver.

Isn't this white girl fantastic? She's the one that started out black silver 2 years ago. She molted out white, was the craziest thing.

I actually love the shape on that guy. He CHONKY. Nice tail angle, a bit of a halo on his hackle, though otherwise his copper is pretty good. He has a fold in his wattle, and I am not real keen on the comb. Is that a double point and a small thumbprint on the blade? Eye color should be brighter...

this juvenile has a red gene, a blue gene, and a penciled gene, and I think one black gene. What do you guys think? Does that make a semi penciled rusty slate? Is the tri coloring there too, like cgcg?
