Comment by 'Rosebud25' in article 'The Egg Float Test'

I just did this test a few days ago as we found a bunch of eggs that our ducks had hidden in some hay. They all sunk! As I was drying them to put in a carton I noticed one had a really fine hairline crack. I broke it open and it was all runny liquid inside. It didn't smell but it wasn't any...

Muscovy Drake X Cayuga Hen MULES, will females lay eggs?

Proszę, ktoś im to przetłumaczy. Moja Muła nigdy nie zniosła jajka. Urodziła się z kaczora piżmowego i kury Rouen. Jej głowa wyglądała jak u Rouen, a grzbiet szary jak u jej ojca Drake'a. Nigdy nie miała czerwonej twarzy i miała półbiałą obrączkę wokół szyi. Mam nadzieję, że to im pomoże i...

I can't help other than translate - Hello, will my Pekin drake in the picture fertilize the Muscovy duck without any difficulty? What do the ducks look like after Pekin drake and Muscovy duck? A Muscovy duck was transferred to my Pekin drake. Best regards 👋.

Official BYC Poll: Do You Clip Your Chickens' Wings?

Mostly no but sometimes I clip them if they start roosting in the trees rather than come in the coop for their evening meal and bedtime!

Open the gate for them to turn around and leave. I'm available by phone or email for help, questions or problems 24/7. You never know...

    What did this???

Ammonia soaked rag in a soup can and then placed around areas you don't want critters. I was an Animal Control Officer and Shelter Manager in NJ for 13 years. The smell of the ammonia keeps everything away. You do have to replenish the ammonia when the smell disappears. But it works! That looks...

what are the pros and cons of a mixed flock

I have guineas, chickens and Muscovy ducks that have all been kept together at night for years. Two drakes. Never had a problem. Chickens and guineas have perches and the ducks have the floor. They free range all day.
