That is quite a drop for your birds. Hopefully they do okay. We have -30 plus wind chills tonight into tomorrow. Winter has shown up early this year for sure.
Around here they release captive bred pheasants, and most do not survive the winters here. There's a place not too far from here that does that. We raised some too but they didn't last long and we haven't seen any pheasants in a while. Hunting accidents are always sad.
Cold out. Things are...
Nice to know more about you Heidi. Love the variety of chicken breeds you have. They're all so pretty. I think your sebright is a hen. I've had a crowing hen. A little d'uccle hen. It's adorable and frightening all at the same time. :)
The judges have finished judging, and we have our winners!

I have one molting too with similar temperatures expected. As long as you have other chickens she will sit close to them if necessary. Just watch, and if you see any signs she's not doing well you may want to bring her in for a short while.
Barb that is quite a bit more snow than what we have. It does make everything more difficult. Sounds like you had pretty strong winds too. That's no fun. We saw some tracks of a single coyote trotting around our property. They haven't bothered us in a while. Hope they stay away.
