I ordered some Sassos from Freedom Ranger for April. I have never seen one before in person.

X2 They appear to be a pure strain but I don't think they can qualify as a breed unless there are multiple breeders.

I don't imagine most people get their chicks from Sasso, but it's good to know.

From a quick read, Sasso are high production hens, so she may need more calcium or just is not eating/getting the calcium she needs. Give her 1 Calcium Citrate with D3 tablet daily for a week and see if that makes a difference. Just pop the tablet right into the beak and let her swallow.

I don't think they are sassos. Wrong leg color and the hens don't have barring. They look like barnyard mixes to me.

It means the roos hatch in one color of down, the ladies in another, just like the sex link birds.

It was an example, many breeds can be wing sexed.
