It sounds like your doing everything right so far! I would wait and watch a while before doing any more on the one you've opened. Sometimes they can finish on their own. I'll link you the guide to assisted hatching that I've always gone by.

The Martins will be hunting their houses too. 😭 Used to nearly everyone in town had a Martin house. Most don't anymore so i had tons. I thought about leaving the houses but they are sentimental to me so i took them. They said they would put one up but i bet they don't. Young couple.
