The vet I take chickens to is an exotic animal vet. It basically means she is comfortable with a range of species. She also happens to keep chickens but is in no way a chicken expert.
I am forming the impression that Australia is just better when it comes to vets for chickens.
It is not just Dr Mark and Dr Jing, the best videos I have seen on chicken medical care are from that Australian vet whose name I am blanking on.
Well it isn’t a word that is like any other so I am thinking yes you did.
I looked it up in the Merck veterinary manual and indeed a specific kind of spirochete infects chickens - particularly in the ceca.
Transmitted by ticks.
I didn’t know spirochetes caused issues in chickens.
Spirochetes (of different varieties) are what cause Lyme disease and Syphilis amongst other things!
Turf is a bit of soil with grass - the roots of the grass hold it together and it can be rolled like carpet. Can be purchased in squares or rolls.
Like this (although that might be artificial - not sure).
Nice one. Thank you. Is it a picture you took yourself?
I am now more than ready to go back to bed and Nightshade was so excited he wore himself out and is already asleep!
I have gone down with a nasty cold and am feeling a bit sorry for myself.
A puzzle is just what I need and then back to bed.
Thank you!
I only got up to make sure Tassels got off the nest and had something to eat.
For me at least that makes a huge difference. I hated those sorts of hours in the office. Being at home made it more doable.
Not working those hours is of course best of all!
