My guess on the price would be supply and demand. If they were $3 on Monday, by Wednesday the price would probably be less. But then again could have been an over abundant hatch, cancelled order, low orders in the fall or maybe a Holliday. 🤔🤷🏻♀️
I now realize your 20230118_191652-jpg photo is a day old chicks. Unfortunately one of my chicks form 1/17/23 is STILL rumpless! Mind you they are from the bargain bin, breed unspecified. But I'm still hoping some of them are Sapphire Jewels. 🤞
Is one of them rumpless? One of mine is. Never knew Meyer Hatchery had so many cross breeds. 🤦🏻♀️ Thanks so much for the photos. I needed a good chick pic today. 😉🐣
Sorry, one more thing I should have mentioned. You cannot click on there search by available date option. It will still say 0. You need to click on each individual breed description. 😏

Check the Meyer Hatchery website on Monday midday. After they fill all their orders and clean out the brooders, the extras will be listed available for order. But only until approximately 3pm. Currently you must order a minimum of 8 chicks.
It says new for 2023. But one of the members listed 2 Sapphire Jewels in their flock form 2021. 🤔 But they too are probably Gems not Jewels. 😔 Thanks for your input! Appreciate it.
Does anyone have a photo of a Meyer Hatchery Sapphire Jewel? Every time I try to search, the photos are all Gems not Jewels. Even Meyer Hatchery's photo is of day old chicks only. I know they are hybrids and they don't all look same. But surly somebody somewhere has a photo of at least one...
A raccoon eats just the head. A fox takes the whole chicken and runs with it. An opossum eats the guts from the butt in. Mink and weasel are bloody meat eaters. So for a raccoon your best bet is a live trap baited with marshmallows.
