14 week Easter egger - hen or roo?

Same thing happened to me. One of my chicks was named Princess and you guessed it, she is actually a he. But he is a Brahma so I can’t say I am not looking forward to having a 12 pound giant rooster with the most dainty name imaginable 🤣

    Broody Hen Question

At 9 weeks old it is perfectly capable of fending for itself and its mom knows that. Just leave it alone for a few days and will most likely start to get used to being part of the actual flock and not just with its mom.

    How Bad Are Snakes?

Snakes are actually great! I hope I help you learn a bit more throughout this article! I hope to continue to add on to it every once in a while but I feel this is a good starting point that has a good amount of information. If I don’t cover something you would like to know or would like...

    Cross beak

If she is eating, drinking, and growing well then I would just keep a close eye making sure none of that changes. If she seems to begin struggling to eat or drink or it looks to be overgrown then I would try to file down but if she is doing well I personally wouldn’t want to potentially mess...

    Dawg’s Party Thread!!!!

Going on an a 6 hour drive so not very happy. I would much rather be sitting with my chickies instead of sitting on my phone. We did get chick-fil-a though so I am happy. And still waiting for the promised dessert 🤣

    Roo or hen?

With how little development the wattles and comb have, it is looking to be a pullet

Is this snake in my coop harmful

Well technically there are isolated localities of garter snakes that have adaptations that have been cause from generations of eating poisonous toads and salamanders which causes them to “hold onto” said poison. There are also others that are technically poisonous as well but this is my favorite...

Help me find my future dog breed?

Ok, this may not be a popular opinion but why not a pit bull/pit bull mix? They are in every shelter and are available at every life stage. Every single one I have owned/met are extremely friendly, low prey drive, active, easy to train, etc, etc, etc.

    What breed is Stanisław?

He reminds me a lot of a Yokohama which is sold by Cackle so that would make some sense.

    Rescued chicken

Yeah, she is definitely full grown and should be laying for you once the stress subsides and she gets settled in. It doesn’t have to be super accurate. If you have a scale for yourself in your house you can weigh yourself holding her and weigh yourself not holding her then just subtract the...

    Tell your favorite chicken breed!

This is hard! I love the giant breeds. Right now I am going to have to say Brahmas but my buff Orpington is absolutely hilarious and she is so friendly. Same with my barred rock. But I just adore my two Brahmas as they seem so intelligent (for chickens) and just have such an amazing look and...

    Rescued chicken

I personally don’t think she is a white rock just due to how small the comb is. But how much does she weigh? That could help to narrow down the possible breeds.
