when one of my chickens had scaly mites, I used Bag Balm and completely covered the legs and feet. No more mites. you can use Vasaline (sp?) as well. both kill the mites by smothering them.
Edited to say..perhaps you can call for backup and have someone hold him while you tend to his feet.
...been doing this with my rooster for the last two weeks and have changed the dressing every 4 days. and I have seen considerable improvement.
**if you can't get the spray..Peroxide will kill maggots.. me I was in a panic and was not trying to spend time fighting with the things.

Thank you!
I've never seen or delt with anything like this so I wasn't sure what to expect as far as that bone was concerned..... especially since the skin got ate off and there was very little tissue on it (as you could see)
Now, like I tried to describe, the bone looks as if it's...
...in around it.
my question is has anyone else had experience with this and will the skin eventually heal over and close the bone back in?
***** The picture is obviously "before" treatment. the breast bone is there at the bottom..(I took the picture with him on his back in my lap, his...
I think instead of airing these types of situations on television for people to be "entertained" by. "They" those who are putting on this type of "entertainment,' should take the money for the cost of airing these "shows" and put it towards actually DOING something about the...
I hate to reply again because I am by no means an expert with bunnies. but I was thinking that it would be better for a vet to determine the Pain med for your rabbit. and I only say that because they can get her weight and then determine what and how much of it to give. I know I'd rather...
Wow that is scary. I will look for some info online. I am so thankful for this site. It is amazing and so much info to help guide us in the right direction.
Thanks again
yeah I was mad too cause he should of known that being a Vet..but not all vets really know rabbits..as I found out.

What horrible thing to come home to!!
If it were my bunny, I would wash it out with water and try to wrap it. I would definately keep her immobalized best you can. and obviously, try to get her to a vet to get it stiched up.
for pain.. I don't know...

Thank you! Will def not give him to many carrots and not give the core of the romaine lettuce again. Should have known where it was lighter than the leaves.
Thank you
I had two Mini Rexes, a Californian and an American Fuzzy Lop. I would give them carrots all the time, almost on a...

Have you looked at her gums? If not, have a look at them. (just in case) That is a sure fire way to see if your cat is sick or not.
Her gums should be pink but if not, if they are white or greyish...then take her to the vet asap.
...even tell he was ever hurt.
it says for Small and Large animals so I would assume that means Goats. I wouldn't hesitate to use it on my goat if he were hurt....but that is my opinion.

I think he just looks lonely. I hope he recovers from his little snip snip and you get him a buddy sooner than spring.
Lots of goats going for little to nothing in the Pacific NW.
I hope you don't leave his collar on 24/7. They can strangle themselves on the...
The Deed, is done!
He is NOT happy and is in serious sulk mode. but I guess that is understandable. Lord willing in a couple days he will be much calmer, and won't be so eager to butt and push. And I hope he won't be rearing up at me with his fur fluffed out and raised along his back...
I carry the squirt bottle every time I go out with him now.. when I feel Horns on my calf..or when he rears...he gets hosed down.. it's funny because he throws back his head and shakes his head from side to side as if he's getting stung! LOL you can almost hear him yelling with every...
Sorry to hear about your bun!
If that were my rabbit, I would take him to a vet tomorrow because there could be an underlying problem causing the wet tail. and I say that because you said it still has the condition even after giving the dri tail.
my experience with rabbits has been that...
