Hey everyone, just dropping a line to say I am still around and keep track of the thread, I just don't have the chickens anymore. I had to find homes for all of them when we moved.
They sure do. La Casa lives in Utah and so far the last two years she has been able to make it up to Idaho falls. You will have a lot of fun if you are able to make it up for next year's, they usualy do it the first weekend in May.
How are my eggs doing, have they gone into the incubator yet? (said this to my friend in a pm checking on some hatching eggs I gave her to put into one of her incubators).
Boise, Nampa, caldwell are people... I have an Amber star hen that is 5 years old but is still laying eggs that I need to rehome, she is getting aggressive with my other hens and even attacked my little chick today when I was out in the run(she snuck in the gate before it closed). She has never...
I don't think you have to. Get ahold of thebirdguy to know for sure. I think all you do is post what you are bringing and Sean (thebirdguy) will make sure you have a spot.
My 2 that are broody still will either get out of the nesting boxes or get bullied out and then go back in after the other hens are done laying eggs. Sometimes I have a heck of a time getting the eggs collected from them, they sure can protect their preferred nesting boxes. Silly chickens.
Mamahumecky, you can break her broodiness by putting her in a cage with a wire bottom for 3 days, just put food and water in their with her. That is how I broke my bantam blue laced red Bella's broodiness.
