...Some will choose to see a vet, and that really is the best option for those that don't want to cull all sick birds, and one I would do if I have a *bunch* of disposable income, and I do mean a bunch, lol, because treating that eye could end up costing well over $300 (office visit, licocaine...
Questions for everyone...
What would you do if you found one of your birds looking like the one below (note: not my bird)?
Would you seek veterinary care?
Would you cull? If culling, why?
Would you treat? What would treatment include and why?
Edited to add note that it's not...

Okay, so I am one of those that is quite confused about "organic" vs "medically necessary treatments", and that's because I've read posts that say stuff like "I'll lose my organic status if I have antibiotics or wormer on the property", which I find a little hard to believe. Anyway...
I never really knew exactly what sort of stuff went into poultry, beef, and swine, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. :idunno My favorite cut of beef is the tenderloin, and that's usually over $20/pound, so how much would organic tenderloin be?

Bovatec -...
...think I have a very clear understanding of what was OTC and what now requires a prescription or VFD, and like you said, it's not injectables, it's *almost* all antibiotics that are added to feed, and *almost* all antibiotics that can be mixed in water. I think post #33 says all this, and it...
So while at TSC today I wanted to see what drugs were available, and what were not.

Clearly someone at TSC doesn't understand the new law.
