looking like a bb red in over all pattern, if the breast gets a good salmon color to it, that bb for sure.
Sort of has a quail look to it in areas, but the hackle is pretty pale for one. Most likely a quail carring a bb red back ground
yes depending on how you breed them
splash to splash - 100% splash
splash to blue = 50% each
splash to black = 100% blue
then with those
blue to blue = 50% blue and 25% each black or splash
blue to black = 50% each
you were talking about out crossing to old english to make red pyle, that what I was saying to do IF you wne that route. A good red splash will look just like a red pyle though, with a few possible blue spots in the white.
It can vary bird to bird and isnt as clean as a true red pyle in most...
Yes I have a few right now. Been working a good bit on dominate white based colors this year, should have some nice pyles in duckwing and birchen next year as well as some dominate white based gingers.
yes on your out cross, doesnt matter sex wise, but seeing how you have a lot of males, put...
personally I love anything blue or splash in them
to make the treu pyles you do have to introduce the domonate white gene
you can do that with oegb but their feathering can make it an issue to get back to type.
will just take a few years to get there is all
breed them to the pyles you will...
think there are actually just 2 of the imperators left, forgot to remove one when I sold it a while back
will look at the javas this evening, think there are 3 hens left for that male still
will let you know for sure what all's out there
haha you seen that crazy crap too!!!
No I sell if they are decent ( a cull to me is often a great bird to others) or give them all away if they are mongerals
is that supposed to be some kinda JOKE???? HAHA
It's pretty much rained every day here since that Tropical Storm came threw a couple weekends ago. at least 7 days straight now, and in the forecast threw at least next Friday at 50 -70% each day...... I've been trying for 2 weeks to go to...
they look good Cynthia, like I said yesterday, great mama they have and it shows!
Yes it should be fine to sell those as a pair, and they should do just like you are thinking breeding wise.
In that case, it's just a golen duckwing then. The sun in the second pic blinds the viewer pretty much and you cant see the brown in it.
a silver will be all black and white. The golden will have other colors mixed in and often a slightly tinted hackle. Also known as dirty silvers
yep I agree with that dvang, just depends on which way you want to go with them. Looks like you will have no trouble on some blue and splash reds for sure.
That's right, the best male I have right now was a mongerel as a young bird. On any kind of long tail especially, you cant tell squat til at least their first adult molt on feather type. Now yes combs, and foot color on sumatras often is what it is, but to get an over all idea of the end...
haha, yep I never even bother sexing til they start getting good feathering in. The very first feathering straight from chick down can often be deceiving ... yes if it's not a Salmon colors breast it's not a girl. The males are pretty much black and white.
The hens a more silvery grey with the...
well condition aside, those dont look half bad at all. Once they get cleaned up they should make some really nice birds next fall when they motl and get some new feathers in.
You've got a lot of blue happening there. Th "pyle" ones are just splash blues, 2 copies of blue in them is all, dont...
