Hello All, I unfortunately need to rehome my 9 ducks due to personal reasons. I have 2 Pekin Mixes (both female), 3 Rouen Mixes (all female) and 4 Swedish Mixes (2 male, 2 female).
Hello all, due to some personal issues. I am looking to rehome my 9 Ducks. Have 2 males and 7 females. 4 are Swedish mix, 2 are Pekin mix and 3 are Rouen mixed.
I normally have food out all day for them and they will eat it all, I only have one laying normally right now, also have oyster shell out 24/7 for them as well. They just dont seem to want to graze any, right near their food is a garden we made for them (tomatoes and cucumber) and I have noticed...
So wonder every ones opinion on this. Deciding once a week to have the ducks do a grazing day. I noticed they dont graze as much as they will go after their food. In areas they relax at mostly and go to the bathroom (drake jail also) there seems to be increasing small flies. They dont touch...
Yeah my wife is telling me cant spend anymore other than food without making some back lol. And i realized afterwards its actually more, forgot to include the sand and pea gravel I spend on the floor.
Has anyone successfully made their own breeds?
The reason I ask is my Black Swedish Drake mated with my Pekin. I hatched the eggs and came out with three different colored ducks. One obviously is a Blue maybe Black Swedish as her feathers come in, The other is a Beige color and lastly the runt...
So for some reason the thought popped in my head about a book that identifies domestic ducks, from ducklings to adults maybe even juveniles. The problem is i have not ever seen a book like this, hardly even a chart, Storey's has some but my copy is black and white. So I decided to atleast for me...
Well i did a rough estimate of how much i have spent on the ducks in this almost year since i started this journey.. between food, equipment, to buying them, etc... and the rough estimate is $600. So far I have only made $14 back :hmm:th
My 4 ducklings are growing up, they are currently 2 months old.. Time to play guess the gender. None have drake feathers yet, but here are videos of their quacks. Videos are uploaded to youtube since I cant seem to figure out how to post them on here.
1) Hopper =
2) Chase =
3) Brownie =
4)...
My wife might kill me if I bring home another duck.. would love to see pictures though. One of my crossbreed juveniles is a snowy color with black beak, kind of want to breed her with a duck with black feet once she is old enough.
Yeah I would love to get Chase if female mated with a Drake with black feet, hopefully black bill and black feet and the snowy color. Problem my wife said no more ducks lol..
I only raise Ducks.. I have 1 Pekin, 2 Swedish, 1 Rouen and 4 Crossbreeds.. 1 Looks Snowy (Pekin x Swedish) 1 is going to be a black Swedish by the looks, 1 is a beige color (Pekin x Swedish) and the other looks Rouen but is crossed with a Swedish. Total = 8 ducks
