Yep that’s definitely a cockerel, look at those saddle feathers. Hens can crow to though.

So I’m making a vat of experimental dye with ferns, and I will be straining out the actual ferns from the water before adding fabric that has been mordanted. So these are basically just boiled/simmered fern leaves. My question is can I give these to the chickens after I remove them from the dye...
