Dolly adopted one of the other babies that was in there brooder. We also had one that hatched that won't stand 😭 Idk what to do. Poor baby. Legs work. Well. They kick and toes curl and everything.
I am only wethering him bc him and the other goat are half siblings. I was told that's a no no. I didn't get told that by the breeder until AFTER buying them. My fault for not checking in advance.
Me either! But they switched nests. So now she is on dolly's eggs that haven't hatched yet (I am gonna candle either tonight or tomorrow night 🤔), and she is on Atropos's eggs.
Here is Dolly, Atropos, and the babies! The Seramas have wings bigger then their bodies.
I gave Dolly another baby today (which she accepted) that hatched last night. It has orange legs....but 5 toes! It's from my own flock so no clue what birds are mixed in lol. It seemed wobbly. I hope it...
Atropos is a week behind I believe and shouldn't pop babies out until then. I think. I wanna say she has a week left. Must be silkie DNA that makes em more prone to broodiness. The other girls don't care. They'll sit on a few but that's it. Then leave. Lmao.
I went outside this morning and there was a baby! I didn't know she was close to hatching! She still has two under her. I will check tomorrow if they have hatched. If not I might pull em out on Thursday? Friday? I want to wait and make sure they are duds.
Omg adorable little pair they must be. We need proof. Give us pics lol.
Dolly hatched out another baby! Tomorrow I am redoing the outside of the enclosure and will let the babies out of the brooder box. It's been super humid here and it is staying damp in there. One of the Seramas passed this...
Dolly refuses to get up. Now we also have Atropos sitting on eggs. We had Charlene too but my toddler yeeted the eggs before I could catch him. My back has been messed up the past week. Yay for degenerative disc disease and a pulled back. Either way they were only 3 days into brooding.
I only have 5. Even my BB died. It got trampled by the adult birds bc my 7 year old went to look at the babies and everyone decided to bum rush in. (Which I told him not to do) :( I think it wasn't gonna make it though bc the BB was looking a little.....tired? That morning
I have 5 Seramas and 4 normal size babies. Granted 2 of the 4 are a tad smaller. I think it's bc the two others have EE in them. One has so much floof I swear it's part pomeranian.
Once I moved Dolly and amped up the security at the brooder, no one else has gone missing. Two babies have died but I assume it's natural causes bc everyone else is fine. The Seramas are getting their wing and tail feathers. I swear the feathers are bigger than they are.
That baby never sits still. That was the best one I could get. Lol. It's fast for something small and two legged 🤣 Maybe has some road runner mixed in?
Oh cool! I am new to turkey life. I got roped in by getting chickens. Then ducks. I do need to find this little one a buddy though. It's the only turkey. We nicknamed him/her Gobbles until we figure out which gender it is.
