Thanks - I ended up finding some blue copper over splash Marans, plus some Olive Eggers in Vallejo. He is on Craigslist if you are still looking for Marans
Hi - I am in American Canyon and am looking for hatching eggs, preferably a blue feathered breed, but also olive Eggers or Maran’s would be good. Do you have any?
Yes, take a look at my coop page for photos. I added some framing and chicken wire above them to make the run taller, and put bird netting over the top. As the run is large, I put a pvc pipe structure in the middle to hold up the bird netting. It is not working out that great, I should have...
Here is a recent post on craigslist Santa Rosa area for a shed that would need only a little modification (pop door, roost, a couple windows). I look at shed ads all the time, this is a good price. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/grd/3065112565.html
And, you would have room for a few more!
Eggface
I have BBS Ameraucanas and Blue, Black, and Blue Barred Rocks fertile eggs. I am in American Canyon, just off 80. If you were coming from Berkeley on a weekday evening, it would take you a half hour or so. If I save them from a week before, I should have 20-28 or so, a mix of both...
You are welcome. There are some others as well if you search "Barn coops" or something. Remember you are so lucky to have a 100 yr old barn - you should put a horse in it as well, or maybe some of those cute Highland cows.
Check out this thread. I was very impressed with this old barn conversion from some time ago, and remembered it when I saw your post.
Our "new" barn and coop!! (not sure this pasted as a link, if not, just put this exact title in the search box.
Good luck with your ducks - they are fun, but very messy. And if it is a duckling, you will notice that they grow really fast. Take photos quickly if you want some when it is small.
Alert to local folks. I have some BBS Ams from Pips and Peeps line parents in the bater, due to hatch on the 6th or 7th. I may have some to sell, depending on how many I get, I am keeping some. Should be a lot of splash and blue, as I have a splash and a black roo over two blue and one black...
I have Black Sweedish ducks and drakes, with only one Black Runner drake. My ducklings have always looked Black Sweedish, though, so maybe he is not the dad. I can hatch some anytime if you are interested. Here is one of the drakes posing on hubby's shoulder. We call this the cheep pirate...
Just thought I would alert anyone in California that I have some blue and blue barred rock chicks for sale on here. Also, one of the blue barred chicks has a bigger head spot than the rest - I know they are not sex linked as the Dad is barred (single gene), but does the bigger head spot mean...
I just put up a sale for my BBS Plymouth rock chicks if anyone is interested. About half of them are Blue Barred!. I was confused at first about the genetics, thought I would get all barred chicks from the barred roo over blue hens. But, because he has only a single barring gene, I got blue...
