I did, too! I see development in all 10 eggs! I'll have to try to get a picture next time, it's been a crazy week...
I also took a moment now that my first three eggs have hatched to move the four into one incubator, leaving the 10 for 4th of July on their own.
Thank you for confirming that. I told him all of that, I said they are fine even being shipped because they are living on the yolk, but he knows best so. I did wait till they were all three hatched before moving them into the brooder. The first two were nice and fluffy, and I let the third...
Thanks all the same! DH was really pressuring me to move them and wouldn't believe me that they would be fine to be left alone in there for the day. He was adamant that they needed to get transferred into a brooder with access to water so they didn't get dehydrated.
Mind you, he doesn't...
Thank you! DH was very adamant that they not stay in the incubator because 🤷 so the first two were nice and fluffy already when they got moved in, and the third is in there fluffing out now too! Yay!
I have a chick! It's loud and peeping and moving around!
How long can it stay in the incubator peeping without water? I know it won't get food until it is in the brooder.
If it is all dry and fluffy before anyone else has hatched, do I still move it into the brooder so it can get water?
Do...
I have three pips!
These are finally the very first three chicks from my favorite hen, Sydney, and our very fancy rooster. I sure hope they all make it! I have four more set to hatch a week later, and then ten I just started for 4 th of July.
I have three pips! Guys, these are Finally! the very first chicks I've ever hatched! I'm pretty happy about it so far, and man, I just hope they make it. My kid is doing ice skating camp this week, so I won't really be around all day to watch - hoping that turns out not to be a bad thing...
Oh dear, yes I would wait at least till my first candling, and also I'll have to pull four out when it's time to lock them down, and leave the remaining ten to do their thing.
I have three pips! How long until they are fully hatched? I'm thinking about 24 hours? without having really done a...
Yes, I mean, I have four that are farther out, like maybe a week away from hatching, plus the 10 I just set that are only a few days in, so all of those I'm still turning. The last 3 are in lockdown in a separate incubator, so I'm not turning those. They should hatch any day now...
All right, my three little babies have a little grippy pad down in there, and I took out the turner, replaced the inner circle cover. Hopefully the humidity stays up enough. It's officially d-3 on the display. We keep having to turn the air conditioner on, and even though it's not in the same...
Guys, I have a question.
I have three eggs that say d-4 so they are about to go on lockdown. Then I have four more that are about a week behind. And now I got one more from my girl this morning I threw in for the 4th of July hatch.
My plan was to pull the four out and let them share the 2nd...
