Exactly. Basically, I want something that won't take years to pay for itself and is reliable. Since I live in a trailer, space is also limited thus why I don't want 10 different units that I can't find room for, lol! Although considering how many brooders and grow-out pens/cages I have in...

Welp, the MeeF seems to have crapped out. Thermostat and heater. Thankfully, this was the end of my hatching season and the 11 eggs remaining are in the Maticoopx. Granted, I've been running the thing non-stop since March! Next year, I'd like to get something that handles more eggs. I'm not...

The current batch, minus the lilac who was still drying in the incubator: I'm fascinated by the dark one in the top right. Might be a hybrid with those markings. Here's a shot of some of them a bit more relaxed (I'd just changed the bedding in the top one and they were seeking comfort in...

Traditional desert puddings are usually made with the yolks, kinda like custard, yes.

Here's my latest batch (various ages). All muscovy, although I wonder if the black one in the back right might be a hybrid. He has really unique markings.

I think the duckling (scovie) that hatched this morning is a lilac! Hopefully a male, that would take care of both blue and chocolate genes.

Sorry for being so quiet the last few weeks. Had internet issues. Still do, I think I need a new router. Hatching this year has gone much better than last year. I have 17 ducklings still inside, 13 have moved outside, and 12 more eggs left to hatch. Of those 17, there are many that were...

I remember my home phone number from 50 years ago! Also my grandmother's even though she's been gone now for almost 30 years, and my uncle's who hasn't had that number for 22. Dang if I remember my kids' numbers, though! :lau

Two DIS ducklings. Both were fully formed and ready to hatch, apart from not having yet absorbed their yolk, so they died just prior to hatching. One did have a very soft skull, but the other seemed perfect... Still 12 eggs in the incubator. May invest in a chest incubator next year.
