I understand you are not eager to buy such auto-pop-door-opener. Not every door can be installed easily for sure. If you would buy a chicken guard you need to make a hole in a wall add a door with slides and quit a bit above the door you add the chickenguard with the cord.
But you can choose...
Its been a while since I heard from someone he had Covid. Hope you are both recovering well.
I can recommend an auto coop opener with a light sensor to make your life a bit easier.
It seems there are cheap ones for €40 euro who often start to malfunction after a while. The price of the...
@Perris
Even found 2 UK addresses to buy Pu-erh tea cake :
https://www.theteamakers.eu/products/raw-pu-erh-cake
https://www.eteaket.co.uk/product/chinese-puerh-beeng-cha-357g-tea-cake/
I was curious about the product and looked on the (mainly dutch) internet for mire info. I could order the fermented Pu-er too. I will do another search for you and see if you can order in the UK too.
I have been reading on a respectable Dutch site (levende have) that adding hemp seed (singing bird seed) to the feed , helps the chickens to lay through the winter. You need to add it from late autumn until februari.
I tried it once. Maybe it helped a little, but it wasn’t like a miracle...
Fun, sad, and lovely news!
Thanks for sharing Manue.
Today my girls were inside the coop and run whole day because I had appointments whole day. They loved the clipped grass this morning but sure didn’t like it not to be able to wander and scratch in the garden. Except for the 2 broodies of...
Love is in the air! :gig
Glad see seems better now.
Did you try to give human Calcium tablets? The ‘chicken docters’ advice to give a week to soft shell layers and see if it helps. But if its because of an underlaying health issue it probably doesn’t help.
I had a neighbours cat locked up in...
I never realised all these years that you have several bantams. I believe the definition of bantams is under 1.4 or 1.5 kg.
Standard Dutch should be 450 g. My Dutch are too large with 550 - 600 g. Katrientje is about 850 g. Most bantams are about 1 kg.
Nice to hear the sick girls are getting better.
💛 I almost could translate the poem. 🌟✨⭐️ 🌞
But one word is missing in my french vocabulary and now I wonder what t’ enfuis means?
Clever thinking. You should be an important politician /gov advisor instead of retiring.
Good idea to live a life away from the stupid people in this world and only relate to a few hermits, chickens 🐓 and wild pigs 🐷. Maybe one day I buy a property somewhere at the edge of the world to follow...
Thanks for the explanation and the link
. And good to hear you have high hopes.
Or within their bodies?
It’s decreasing rapidly in my country. Several wise politicians stopped after the last term because of harassments and personal threats. Stupid narcissistic /populist politicians came in...
Sorry for Lilly and Piou-piou, your sick chickens. :hugs:hugs:fl:fl
Imho it’s not good you /the vet give her antibiotics for the third time this year. I wouldn’t for sure. A chicken that had so much antibiotics has an imbalanced health (imbalanced bacteria) and is vulnerable for new diseases...
:hugs💜💙🧡🩷💚
Thanks for sharing Blances story.
One thing I didn’t understand.
If they arrived as pullets they can’t have been ex-bats. They must have been older hens or young laying hybrids.
Ooh, did she die today?
Sorry for your loss. Must be sad and strange for you and your partner if she is gone.
We all wil miss her!
