Not yet. He hatched some eggs from then and the chicks came out a weird color. Said he might have to source another silver laced male. They where feathering out a pee yellow with lacing.
Depends on the line. I had lavender from Cackle and the girls where skittish as chicks. Now thay are adults they like me much better.
The only chicks I had that always came up and where fearless in both males and females were the cochins I got from TSC last year. They still are! I sit down to...
Yeah that's her. I almost bought birds from her but didn't want non NPIP tested birds or to break the law. I may do that next year if she has what I want or I might take that advice and start my own line.
There are a handful of older breeders in the Ameraucana that breed by that kind of philosophy. They are the ones that worked on standardizing the breed.

It's just frustrating for my brain to wrap around their logic because most of them don't know why anymore.
The unofficial Ameraucana Alliance Group. Never in all my life have I engaged with people that think if you breed two pure animals together and you get a color that is not SOP that it makes it another breed altogether or a mutt. The non SOP color is just that, an Ameraucana that is not SOP...
Yeah there is not a hatchery that carries true Ameraucana bantams yet. Cackle has the large fowl and they are pretty good quality for starting a flock to work on.
Not really. It was a test on the new incubator and I got a female that looks brown red but on blue instead of black. I might be able to do something I want with that.
