Is this a cream legbar or was I dooped?

Chicken pickin and pickles thanks for being so kind to me. For the others, I feel like I should defend myself: Yes it is a severe crossbeak. However, at the feed store they said it was able to eat fine. I felt it's crop and it was halfway full so I felt like this was true. Then I took the chick...

Is this a cream legbar or was I dooped?

Thanks. I do not want any roosters so I contacted the place I bought the "legbar" from and they will exchange it or refund.

Is this a cream legbar or was I dooped?

I bought this cross beak out of sympathy. I love rescue chickens and I always wanted a cream legbar so I took this chick home. She was the dark chipmunk colors that females are supposed to be. Now her feathers are red orange and the comb is awful large. Would be 7-8 weeks old in these pics I...

    Turkey sounds- novice

I am going to cross my fingers and hope for a hen. I tried picking the poult with the smallest snood bump, smallest feet. Maybe they were all toms... No gobble yet...

    Turkey sounds- novice

Are there turkey sounds that ONLY hens make? I read that only toms will gobble. I have a turkey with my chickens that is very tame. I am really hoping it's a hen because I read that you can't have a tom with your chickens because he will try to breed them. I posted pics on another forum and...

Diary of a Crossbeak: Support for Special Needs Chickens and their Keepers

Oh my I looked back through my phone and found the pic I took last week vs today. It looks much worse. Is this considered severe? She is able to fill her crop with starter...

Diary of a Crossbeak: Support for Special Needs Chickens and their Keepers

Here are more pictures of my cross beak chick named Moon Moon. I've had her a week and nervously check her crop every evening and so far she hasn't had trouble filling it, although she spills her food quite often trying to eat in a deep dish. She is very difficult to get a good picture of...

A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

I haven't seen it strutting really except one time it had it's head tucked towards it's neck but the wings were not drooping down. I play turkey gobbles on my phone to get a reaction, and most of the time it is fear, then spreading tail horizontally but never a full strut. I am really hoping for...

A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Not sure if this is the acceptable place for this but... Patience is not my virtue and this is an active thread. I know, I know, 2 months is too early to tell, but guesses on she or he? At least enjoy the pictures of my super friendly turkey that still has no name:

    Turkeys and chickens together

If you have one turkey with your flock of chickens, and the turkey ends up being a tom, would he hurt the hens?

Diary of a Crossbeak: Support for Special Needs Chickens and their Keepers

Wow thanks for this response! The lady at the feed store said the chick was eating and drinking fine, and I have a soft heart for the special needs ones. However, I think if it go to the point of not being able to eat without tube feeding, then it becomes a QOL factor and I wouldn't want to do...

Diary of a Crossbeak: Support for Special Needs Chickens and their Keepers

What are the chances of this bad case being able to eat normally when she is older? I am thinking she is around 3-4 weeks now. She was as big as the other chicks and I felt bad so she is the one I went home with

Review by '' on item 'Leghorn'

My white leghorn hen is named Ghost, because she is flighty. She will come up and eat out of my hands, but no touching! The only time I have been able to really pick up this bird is if she is roosting for the night. She came from McMurray hatchery, and has some special needs. She either doesn't...

Review by '' on item 'Easter Eggers'

I have two EE hens, Falcon and Fire Hydrant. The second wasn't named by a toddler, was named because she was SOOOO dumb that we named her the dumbest name we could come up with. As chicks, both were VERY flighty and would practically try to kill themselves to get away from us. Then, as they...

Review by '' on item 'Cornish Bantams'

My dark cornish bantam pullet named Loudy got her name for a reason. As a chick, she was very, very loud. She was very flighty and would "alert" the other chicks anytime I was in the room and did something she didn't like. Now, she is only really loud during feeding time, or if I am across the...

Review by '' on item 'Cochin'

I have a red cochin pullet named Pie. She is one of my sweetest birds! I would definately recommend this breed if you have children. I don't have kids, but this pullet is so gentle I wouldn't worry about any kids being around her. She will gently take feed out your hand, doesn't peck, and loves...

Here are some updated pics of my poult! Still not sure on the breed but she(hopefully) is very affectionate and sings really pretty songs. No strutting going on yet.

Things i never knew about chickens...

Before owning chickens, I thought they only made peaceful clucking sounds. The truth: mine screech and scream when broody, growl when demanding treats, and loudly yell to be let out in the morning. So peaceful!

Organic pride animal food for 2 month old chicks?

From what I read, that is just how the bag looks. There should be a tag at the bottom of the bag that will specify what kind of feed it is, and the ingredients.
