    Best All-Around Chicken Breed?

I feel this will become a featured thread. So you're looking at a breed that has the characteristics of a Cochin (broody, meaty), Brahma (cold hardy, broody, meaty), Leghorn (heat hardy, eggs), Icelandic (foraging), and Chantecler (cold hardy)

How many chickens would you need to keep to supply all the meat and eggs your family eats?

My family is vegetarian. We eat MAYBE 4 eggs a week. So 3 hens is more than enough.
