Large Squishy crop, help with treatment

Haha somehow I missed that part. I ordered a crop bra for her yesterday to see if that helps as well. She is passing a lot of stool. In several of the stools she has confined to pass a fair amount of grass. I'm wondering if this the culprit for this whole ordeal...

Large Squishy crop, help with treatment

Well I brought her inside, gave her yogurt water and layer feed. I also gave her a dose of monistat per the two crows post. She has already pooped 4 times today since bringing her in. I'm wondering if my two crop massages helped her some. Her poop has both a solid and a watery component. She...

Large Squishy crop, help with treatment

Here are pictures of penelope (the easter egger with the large crop). I am thinking of bringing her into the house tonight in a wire dog crate and trying either monistat or the cinnamon/baking soda/lemon juice/ginger concoction that TwoCrows recommended above. I have seen her drinking and eating...

Large Squishy crop, help with treatment

Her breath does not smell. I massaged her crop for a few and it doesn't feel hard, just feels a little doughy and like there is some soft "stuff" in there. Hopefully this isn't a problem in the long run.... I guess time will tell.

    Is this cancer? (Grafic pics)

Looks kinda like some sort of disseminated peritoneal tumor (if that is indeed the abdominal/chest cavity). Although you can't be sure unless you looked at that under a microscope. Sorry for your loss :(

Large Squishy crop, help with treatment

I'll have to check her breath. She is still laying and appears healthy. Yes she does have access to food and water in the morning before I get to her she has been free ranging some and getting grass that way. I've also been giving them boss, kale in a suet cage and dried meal worms...

Large Squishy crop, help with treatment

Hi! I have an Easter egger who is about 1 year old. This morning I noticed what appears to be pendulous crop. She acts healthy and laid an egg yesterday. I felt the crop and it feels very squishy. For a long time (months) she has had these interesting sideways head movements. From what I've...

    Connecticut!

I would wait until they are fully feathered if it's going to continue to be in the 30s and 40s. They could probably handle 60s/50s now but I think anything less than that is pushing it unless they are already fully feathered. Some other people who know more than me might be able to better answer...

    Baby chicks a week apart?

Hi! Raising different breeds together should definitely be ok. Also raising chicks together who are 1 week apart should also be ok, just keep an eye on them.

    2 baby chicks dead!

Sometimes the baby chicks just don't make it despite optimal conditions. It looks like your other chicks are healthy from the videos.

My Ameraucauna won't use the nesting box...

I agree that golf balls might help. I actually blocked off the areas in my coop that they pullets were laying their eggs in and they eventually started laying in the next boxes with the other pullets.

Chicks born in the fall. When should I expect my first egg?

My chicks were born the beginning of august and I got eggs right around 24 weeks as well (early january). It can seem like forever until the first egg comes, but it certainly will! How do their combs look?
