That's what happened with her. She was so happy and healthy the last 2 days. She became very quiet in the middle of night and just got worse after that. :'(
Thank you. I don't know how I'm going to cope without her. She was like my shadow, going everywhere I went. I'm so sorry about your duck. It's so difficult to lose them.
Daisy passed away early this morning. Thank you for trying.
She was so healthy and happy a few hours before this started. I'm so broken. Lost my baby chicken and her in a span of 4 days.
There's nothing open here at this time of night. We don't have any 24/7 stores here. And I don't have any at home.
Here's a photo of her. She looks really sick. I have no idea what to do. She's breathing fast but shallowly. Her legs are at the back stretched out and he wings are drooping. She's...
It's almost 1 in the morning here. I can only go during the day and get some. Is there anything I can do right now to help her out? She's so uncomfortable and I feel terrible. :(
Grated mostly. Except for the peas and cabbage. I chop the cabbage very fine and she never has any issues eating it. The peas were whole though. I usually blend it but today I was short on time. :hmm
There hasn't been any grit at home for the past few days. I've run out and need to get more...
Her neck and chest feel squishy. The right side is bulging a bit but I can't feel anything there. She always has a bucket of water deep enough to put her whole neck in and I change it as much as possible.
She's only eaten some oats, barley, peas, cabbage, carrot, turnip-like veggie and flax...
She only lays early in the morning and she isn't showing any signs of wanting to lay. I can't tell what's wrong. She's lethargic, very quiet, tail pointed down and she keeps shaking her head. I've already given her some calcium tonight. She hasn't vomited again at least.
Update: She seems to be having trouble walking again tonight. She's very quiet and was wobbly and is sitting in a corner right now.
She also threw up some water a few times?? I saw her do that once a few days back and since nothing followed I didn't think much of it but she just did it again...
I haven't thought of looking for pigeon supply stores but I will do that. I found regular calcium supplements at a pharmacy that I've been portioning out for her.
@Miss Lydia is right. I'm not in the US. I did actually look on Amazon India for oyster shell. They have one brand there but it hasn't been available this whole time which is why I settled for the chicken egg shells.
Haha sorry about that. :p I will add my location to my profile.
Could you please also tell me how often to give supplements? I'm guessing you can't feed it every day?
My best guess about her age is that she's under a year old. She was pretty small when I brought her home (looked teenager-ish) and this is her first batch of eggs. And I didn't know they lay...
Thanks. :) I hope it is just that. She doesn't seem to have any other symptoms as far as I can tell. Not sure what else I should be looking out for. Do you know how long they continue to lay eggs for? At one go, I mean. And for how long should I be giving her calcium supplements?
I can't find...
Do you think it's just a deficiency? I gave her some last night and this morning she seemed to be better. Still a bit wobbly and panting but much better. She also laid an egg this morning. She laid 7 in a row with a gap of 3 days and this was her 8th. Is that normal?
Thanks. It was really hard...
