Thanks for the replies. No mites or lice. I have not seen another stool with worms in it but will still be working them. I wasn't sure how they would handle the added stress of worming combined with the cold temperatures. I know they will and are miserable right now
Hi, I noticed roundworms in a frozen stool the other day and wanted to know if I could worm my birds in winter? I have never seen worms in their stools before but I'm willing to bet it's due to them staying inside their coop and run ALL day because of the weather. They have never been this...
I will make sure to do that. I have a small child and I don't want anyone getting hurt. That's probably why he can't stay. I will keep the game bantam though
I can't kill any of my chickens. I know it sounds dumb to a lot of people but I just can't do it. I just keep them for eggs. I will have to rehome him and wherever he ends up .... Can eat him if they want.
It might end up being a mean sucker. I reached my hand in the pen and it Ruffles its neck feather and pecked and jumped at my hand. At 2 months!!!!!! :( :( :( why can't he be a good boy like the bantam
:( the place where I got the black one just answered email. It supposed to be a black copper Maran pullet :( super sad, I really wanted dark eggs. I was starting to suspect because it is so much bigger than any pullet I have ever had........
I need some advice on the California Grey and the Austra white. I recently bought two pullets but I'm not sure if I made the right decision. They are nervous and skittish more so than the others. I realize that this is due to the leghorn genes but will they play nice with the others. Will they...
Dawg53, how much liquid do I give each chicken? I mixed it in their water but they don't want to drink it. I did take my one weak hen over there and forced her to drink about 10 drinks. I grabbed her wattles and kept dipping her mouth in the water. She was not happy, but I don't have a dropper...
Okay everyone I need your help badly! Getting chicks was the worst decision I have made! One was sickly to begin with so I brought it in and now she is healthy. I just went out there and now there is another one who has rattled berthing. I brought her in and put her in her own box next to the...
I seperated one of my chicks because she was sick. Now I have another who is sick.can I put them in separate brooder boxes next to one another but not in the same box? I don't want the one I just revived to get sick with whatever this one has
Me too! Everything was fine until I brought some chicks home from a hatchery. They are causing way too much stress on my flock. One of my Brody hens adopted them but the other two girls keep calling for her all day. Now my favorite hen has a wing problem and I have no idea how she got it. She...
Can anyone tell me how o tell the difference between a broken, dislocated or sprained wing? I have no idea how this happened!!! My barred rock was fine all day yesterday but right before bedtime I noticed her wing was suddenly drooping. I picked her up and she tried getting away but that wing...
Can anyone honestly say that a chick should never sneeze? I have a week old chick that I separated from the others two days ago. I i this because she was not growing like the others. She also had pasty butt. She was eating and drinking here and there but just wanted to be under mama hen all day...
