    2nd that..No one mentions how fast chickens will tear into anything meaty. I buy cheap hot dogs JUST for my chickens, one a day. WATER!     Seems to be the way these days. One person had to go on line to find out, if eggs ARE NOT WASHED, they will stay a LOT longer at room temp. Don't NEED frigerating. As though those of us who have chickens wouldn't know a thing about them!!:lau:old:confused:

    My roos screech crazy when there's something around. The girls will stand perfectly still. Across 12-13y, I've lost about a dozen (?) to predators. Thought I lost one, yet she came down from a cave in the sandstone rocks above the house with 5 chicks... Price to be paid for GREAT tasting eggs...

    Free Ranging

    Mine are almost 8 Weeks. One managed to roost with the adults, missed getting into coop with other 9, for the night. This morning, she was anxiously waiting for her playmates!. Keeping them within site of the adults has paid off! My adults roost on my b porch.

    I collect what poop my chickens leave on B porch in cracked buckets. Leave the buckets in the B yard for a year, to age, be rained on. Aged C poop is some of the BEST fertilizer. I've heard some pay Money for it. Also, I am NOT a 'everything in its place' type, thankfully on 20 ac, Rural.

    COMPLETE Free Range Here. Tried to get last years chicks back into 'new' coop recently but they vacated within hours. Cheap, floor of laying area collapsed inside the coop Months go. I clean up the poop on the back porch, sell, give away in Spring, use for my garden. (Poop Not a big deal..)...
