Thank you so much for the information. I apologize for my delayed response (just had a baby 3 weeks ago and trying to manage my life amongst other things! Lol Apparently the word "schedule" is obsolete). We are looking into some local options for our fostered muscovies. But unfortunately the two...

We are fostering 4 muscovy ducks for a Tampa rescue. We've raised them since April and they are in need of a great home. They would need some type of shelter and to be provided with food and fresh water daily...

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear about your baby. Keisha's story was a Rollercoaster and she wasn't expected to survive, but against all odds, she did, and we owe...
Most the babies returned to the sanctuary a few weeks ago with the exception of all the chickens and 3 ducks, who were locally adopted. I've attached photos of their first day back home.
The other four are muscovies. We still have them. The sanctuary isn't equipped to take them and we are very...
Hi all, sorry for the late reply. We kept her inside for 24 hours and she was so happy. A/C, quiet, and a place to sleep (at the foot of our bed in her diaper... lol). I used a warm washcloth for her bump only once and after 2 days it was nearly gone. The drakes are all separate from her.
About...
Hello,
Yesterday we noticed our female duck Keisha has a big lump on her head (it doesn't look big in pictures, but it's about half an inch high). It's also causing swelling around her eye. We think this happened from the boys trying to mate with her (We now keep her separate from the boys...
We think they're all mixes. Def. 2 Pekins and at least 1 call duck. They all peep right now... do Muscovy ducklings peep?
Either way, the kids next door watch our ducks through their upstairs window and frequently scream, "I see you got 4 more!" I'm like shhhhhhhhhh!!!!!
My husband and I just agreed to foster some ducklings for a local nonprofit all-animal sanctuary here in Tampa. When they get older, they'll return to the sanctuary where they'll have their own lake, protection, and possibly be able to join an existing flock.
When we arrived, we expected 5...
Thank you! Luckily we're friends with their adopter, so we will get lots of photos as they grow! We're curious to what they'll look like, especially since they're most likely mixed.
Thank you! You're right... I think many are mixed breeds, especially since they're free roaming at the sanctuary we're working with. We just found an adopter who will take all except 2 of them, so now we'll just wait and see when they look like as they grow. :)
One little guy has a prolapse...
Hello! Very new to raising chickens. We're actually fostering a few chicks for a local animal sanctuary and learning as we go (we have experience raising ducks, of which were also fostering).
Can anyone help identify some of these chicken breeds? They're very tiny and at least 2 weeks old. We...
Hello Florida friends! Looks like we have 4 more runner ducklings who will be up for adoption very soon! They are the last of a very large clutch by our Chocolate Runner mom and Fawn/White Runner-Pekin dad. All of the babies thus far have come out a bluish gray and white. :) Here is a photo of...
We have about 16 chocolate runner x white/fawn runner-pekin cross duck eggs. A few in an incubator and the rest under our broody hen, Lucy. Two hatched in December and the next group are due any day now. They're hatching at different times.
Sounds good!! I'll definitely let you know! We're hoping the 3 we have in the incubator hatch in the next 3-4 days. The ones outside with Lucy... no clue, but she's trying her darndest!
