I have 4 Black Langshans, and 2 brown (not sure of breed) chickens, the Black Langshans are almost 2 years old and were laying when we got them the 2 brown ones are atleast a year old
I figured up through March it may have been too cold then it got real hot here during the summer, now it is cooling off, and the hens will still not lay. We got a higher protein feed, still nothing... anyone have any ideas?
Ok, my hens are laying, the kids wanted to let the first few eggs stay and see if they hatch, I have never seen the chikens sit on them, can I bring them in in an incubator? If they do hatch do I put them back in the house with the hens or am I raising them inside? Sorry, very new to this...
All 12 birds went into the coop the same day, the day i got the 4 Lanshans, and the 4 RiR's... it is just odd....
The guy is going to get me 4 pullets to replace them, I am afraid to take them...

Thanks Jenny!
That is what i was trying to find out in another post, no one responded... Yes, the bigger ones kept them away from food/water, so I seperated them and fed them seperately. Dunno about mites... The seemed healty, but were smaller... they were 4 weeks younger so didn't...
Thank you... I will miss him! Yes, the RiR and Black Lankshans were kept in different open air "roofed pens" and there were a total of 20 different breeds... i guess they were sick prior to me getting them, they were his last 4 RiR's.
but these are the new birds... and the other black ones are fine, so did MY birds pass something on? Also, Quarantining, seperate coops or like 500ft away or how?
