Trying to find an easy wormer

Here's a video and pic of them. I'm thinking they are just maggots but IDK for sure.

Trying to find an easy wormer

Thanks! I should take a sample to be tested. I've looked up photos and what I think I see is capillary because they are very small worms in the poo. IDK if the chickens are expelling them or they are developing between poop board cleanings from flys or whatnot. But if that's the case sounds like...

Trying to find an easy wormer

So I might have to use a few different meds then? I'm not treating orally. It has to go in the water or food or thoughts & prayers. But if it's only in the water it will only treat roundworms? That Jedds link says "not found" BTW

Trying to find an easy wormer

I'm sure this has been talked about ad nauseam but here we go anyway. I have about 20 chickens that have never been wormed. Some are bout 4 years old some are 7 months. They all mingle together. They are not tame. They run from me like I'm a predator anytime I get close. So catching each one...

    Storing Eggs

#3 allows the eggs to last longest. Don't wash. Just put in the fridge. That's what I do unless they are just completely filthy. Usually I get at least one egg that is just nasty looking so I rinse it off.

Chickens seem to really like the new waterer

Not at all! I'd love to have some ducks but until I get a legit BIG natural spring fed pond...no way. Ducks will make a mess of any small man made water source. I'm happier just knowing the chicks have ample water anytime they want it. It's dang hot!

Chickens seem to really like the new waterer

Just a kiddie pool with a submersible water pump to keep the water circulating. They seem to really love it during this hot weather. I kinda like it too because I'm not refilling their 5gal bucket every day! It was funny though...took them at least a whole day to get used to it and be curious...

Coop floor substrate and nest bedding

I think this last time I used just 1 bag of shavings. I don't add any.

Coop floor substrate and nest bedding

I clean the poop boards daily (try to at least) and I scoop out all the pine shavings on the floor once or twice a year.

    Any breed guesses? weird feathers…

Where did you get them from? If it was from TSC it might help identify them, they usually get the same breeds.

    Dirty eggs?

I'd toss them in and see what happens. I pretty much go against the grain though lol I've recently hatched dirty eggs. I put dirty eggs in the fridge to eat. I sell dirty eggs. I clean dirty eggs sometimes. Dirty eggs are just eggs IMO. If they are not cracked they are viable. Eat or hatch.

    First Time Broody Hen Hatch-Along

I've only had 1 successful broody hen hatch and raise her hens to adulthood. The other 3 or 4 that tried let their chicks get killed by the other hens. good luck! Looking good so far! Ideally, IMO...this is the best way to raise a new batch of chicks. I wish all my hens would do this and be...

Thoughts on Scratch & Peck food... worth the price?

$15.00 50lbs 22% protien Layer Feed At my local co-op. That's what I offer 24/7 to my chickens. I feed them table scrapes a few times a week. That's all they get. Oh, and oyster shell and grit as they want it. I collect eggs daily. No problems. Folks have gone out of their mind with feed in...

Complete lies, myths, and falsehoods with chickens

I was told last year that you can't eat fertilized eggs. haha. I told someone I have a rooster with my hens and I collect and eat the eggs. He told me you can't eat fertilized eggs. I laughed at him and simply said OK.

Complete lies, myths, and falsehoods with chickens

I'm sure we've all heard them. Advice that is a complete lie, uneducated, falsehood, garbage, myth, makes no sense whatsoever. A recent one I just saw in a thread here was "don't pick up baby chicks until they are 3 weeks old or they will die" Wow. OK. So what are some complete myths that...
