    Chicks at night...

I'm getting a couple day-olds soon. At night, do I just leave the light on them like in the day? Will that set off their internal clock or whatever?

Does this mean *I* am the rooster? !

My girls do that to me sometimes. I call it "bowing". Henrietta, the lowest on the pecking order, does it whenever I touch her.

    Electrolytes in a pinch

Coconut water (like coconut milk, but from a premature coconut) is very high in electrolytes and better for your girl than gatorade or pedialyte.

    What are your rooster's names?

A.T. Hagan : In the past we've had Noodles - big EE rooster - and Thing One & Thing Two - Red Sex Links. LOL! I see my clever name idea wasn't as original as I thought.

    What are your rooster's names?

I've got Thing 1 (and his girlfriend Thing 2) They are both Seramas. Nugget, Red Sex Link, who we hatched (he's the chick in my avatar) and Fil-a (named after Chick-Fil-A) who was supposed to be a girl.

Chick has part of her skin ripped off

Okay, my parents are looking at it and they say it can't be stitched together. It looks like the feathers, skin and some muscle have been removed . Should I just clean it and leave it? Or should I just cull her?
