I take it they are good warning for other birds such as chickens and ducks as we had some idiots dog kill one of my hens. thankfully the only tragedy thus far *touch wood*

The choice is between guinea fowl or quail... My question is... how easy is it to keep either of these and also can I allow them to free range like my chickens or ducks or, like pheasants...

So I have a small flock of 6 indian runner ducks and I am looking to get a goose, a peacock would require me to convert the stable...
My question is, do you think a female goose would mix in with the indian runner ducks and become part of the flock or just be lonely or even fight the ducks?
noo the owner was in the neighbouring field to the left, the dog chased the chicken off my garden into the neighbouring field on my right... she doesn't know, we think, that her dog killed heather... but yes she owes me a chicken and either to muzzle that dog or keep it on a lead... next time...

they have an electrically fenced off run but they free range during the day...
I was told welsummer when I bought her... but its quite unlikely being that shes darker... probably a cross too... she would be one of my favourite hens...
So I have had this chicken for over a year now... and I still am uncertain on what breed she is... Shes a heavy bird but she is comical in her mannerisms...
Any help would be much appreciated... I thought she may have been a brahma but her legs aren't feathered enough...
