Looking to add some Welsummers to my flock and was wondering if anybody has purchased Welsummer’s through IdealPoultry. If you have, how are their eggs? Are they dark or speckled? The reason I’m asking is because the hatchery is sold out online of course but I see some scheduled to come in at a...
Hello! I am looking to buy a few new chicks this spring and am considering idealpoultry as the hatchery to get them from. I was looking into getting the following:
Turkens (naked necks) - 1
Frizzle Cochin Bantam - 2
Blue laced red Wyandotte - 1
Barred rock - 1
Lavender Orpington - 1
Easter...
Does anyone have the Blue Olive Eggers from IdealPoultry? Their website has a pic of a chick, but no adult pics. I am curious as to what they look like as adults. I have had their regular Oliver Eggers, and they were sweet girls, but I am thinking for my next OE's, I might try their blue ones...
Does anyone have Easter Eggers from idealpoultry? We went to the feed store last week and got two chicks but what I found interesting is that in the Easter egger brooder (all from ideal) they all looked identical! Usually when I’ve seen Easter eggers, they are varied in color.
Makes me...
Hi all! I bought some bantam chicks off of IdealPoultry and was wondering if anyone could help ID them for me 😊
They are all hatchery choice clean leg bantams. I'm 90% sure #2 is a black Japanese bantam, but not sure on the others!
(#1 and #2 are 2 weeks old. #3 and #4 are less than a week old...
Yes! Well, sort of. There's a little family run poultry farm nearby but they get massive orders from Ideal and resell them. I'm fine with that. Saves me the stress of the post office and the facilities are always clean and birds healthy.
They also breed their own zombies and meat birds in a...
I'm in love with the coloring of these chickens. My camera doesn't do them justice. I bought two of them from my local feed store. I believe they use IdealPoultry. They are 11 weeks old.

The circumstances for the chicks in the eggs may not have been ideal to grow. Weak chicks have a hard time to hatch.
...I don’t have any experience with Marek’s, I do read a lot of hatchery breed info, and thought you might be interested in a “breed” from IdealPoultry called Ideal 236.
From their website:
The Ideal 236 is a highly productive white egg layer that was originally developed at IdealPoultry...
Not sure if it's the same cross as Sapphire Gem but I know IdealPoultry has Blue Stars which is a sex-link cross using Blue Andalusian Rooster x Barred Rock Hens. Males hatch out with dot on head and females hatch out solid.
I wish we had somewhere near by that got chicks from Ideal! Places here get theirs from Hoover. I finally found a friend who wants to split an order from Ideal though so I’ll be getting some! Never ordered through the mail. Hopefully they all come healthy!
Zombies would be such an interesting...
