I had to charge the ring for the first time last night. I also figured out that the case it came with to charge the ring has its own battery and doesn't need to be plugged in to charge the ring. This is nowhere in the documentation.
I don't know how many times the case will charge the ring yet.
It will be a challenge to round them up every night. That sounds like a better alternative to letting them get eaten, however. Raccoons will reach through small gaps and pull the birds out piece by piece.
I read about that on a tech forum. They figured that if they make the tools free, people will keep subscriptions to Canva, which is a paid service. It's nice to see a free suite like this.
Please stop asking the same questions over and over again. I know you're hoping for a different answer, but asking again and again is just going to irritate people.
Those look like they should have plenty of texture so they don't injure their legs.
As @RoyalChick mentioned, you might worry a bit about loose fibres, but with the frequency that you're changing them, probably not a problem.
You are a coward. Not the run from danger kind (with your physique and skill, that's probably actually smart for you), but the kind that runs from anything that is hard or uncomfortable. Hard task? "Here, YOU do it!" It's cold and you get water on your hands which makes them hurt? "I don't...
The only thing I would worry about would be the texture of the sheets. Are they very smooth? If they have enough texture, they may be a very good choice for you.
You need to look at the feathers around the vent. If there are red/rust feathers around the vent, then it's male.
Males are usually smaller than females (but there are exceptions). Males are usually less skittish than females, however, so I'm not sure what you're characterizing as male...
I've never used the app. I don't see any need for an app when a web browser works just fine and I have limited storage on my phone that I would rather use for music. ;)
If you don't have a PC, you can use a web browser on your phone.
That sounds even less comfortable than on my wrist. I'll probably retire the Fitbit soon since it's over 5 years old and sometimes just quits for a day or two then starts working again.
It's not a good idea for chickens and quail to live together. Even a bantam chicken is significantly larger than a quail, and will often peck at them, causing injury or death.
Another reason it's not a good idea is that chickens can carry diseases that they are immune to but the quail are not.
The ring doesn't record nearly as many steps as the Fitbit does, but I think the Fitbit tracks a lot more of my miscellaneous arm movements. The ring also shows that I sleep better, and again, I think the Fitbit tracks random movement more.
All in all, I think I like the ring better than the...
Chicken wire is not going to keep your quail safe. EVERYTHING likes to eat quail. It needs to be covered in 1/2" hardware cloth.
I don't think the nylon is wind proof. Can you get a tarp? Put some small cardboard boxes in there with two holes cut into them so they can't get trapped inside...
