Is it common for a hen to go broody multiple times during the season? My Blue Orpington went broody and hatched 13 eggs in April. Now she's broody again.
She is a Faverolle pullet - has 5 toes. I believe she is a pullet based on the way she holds herself...more horizonal than vertical (like a rooster). She is a sweet as can be. I think I may have found another favorite breed!

Good news. She has been up an walking around for a little over a week now. She was walking fine inside the crate. When I put her outside with more room to move, she does well, but on occasion she walks like a drunk. I think she just need more exercise. I have since moved her into the coop inside...

Do you know of anyone with Black Orpingtons on the west coast? Looking to add black Orps to my flock. I live near Seattle and have the worst time hatching shipped eggs from the east coast.

Catdance has some 6 month old pullets for sale@ $50 each. I think I will just pick up eggs...it'll be fun hatching them. I guess I could sell the rest.
