    Male Runner with swollen belly

    A friend of mine has a male runner duck. He is not well..swollen belly and very watery droppings..lack of appetite. he also seems to be limping, and has a sore on the foot..but this may be unrelated to the swollen belly.. what could this be? I know something about chickens..but not ducks...

    even tho little of the meds goes into the eggs...to be safe it's best to have a withdrawal time, not only for possible allergies, but for resistance build up.. you can cook up the eggs and give back to the hens..

    you would have to keep the chick separate from your other chicks.. the way to know if the chick has cocci or not..is to observe it and check it's droppings and behavior. most likely if any of them have cocci, they all do. there's no way to know if the chick will survive after you bring it home...
