3.75 to 5.25 oz! Those are some tiny seramas...
I have never heard of them being that tiny before.
Judging from the pics, the wire behind the seramas are either 1/2'' by 1'' or 2'' by 1''.
I 'd guess the wire is more so on the 2'' by 1'' side.
So I'm guessing they are about 7 inches tall.

Ah, I see.
Curious about this though,
Can a bird with that only has a few chocolate feathers on it be carriers of chocolate?
If I breed a chocolate hen to a cock and their daughters come out not a solid chocolate but with only a few chocolate-colored feathers. Could you say that...
how do you find out if a bird is recessive or dun based chocolate?
Will their chick down (fuz) color say if they are rec or DB?
I've seen pics of chocolate fuz some with choc/white fuz and some that are plainly yellow fuz but they all seem to turn a chocolate color as adults.
I have actually...
Hey,
Are those my birds???
They seriously look like the chicks that my neightbor gave me to raise. The chicks he gave me were only a couple days old when I got them.Mine are wild chickens that lost their mother to some sort of predator.I have no idea what breed mine are or yours are but here are...
I sent a message to the Dept of Ag and I'll see where it leads me.
They should give me the 411 on importing into the US.
I don't know if I will go ahead with hatching eggs, I rather go with the real thing, live adult birds.
For now, I wanna go ahead with choc seramas. To be honest I do not...
Henk69 those chocolate japanese are beautiful.
I wonder if I could do that.If you don't mine sharing how you did this, please share!
How did you get a chocolate serama?
How do you tell if that particular serama is sex linked?
Did you start with a chocolate serama cock and mate them to black...
Hey, that isn't too bad at all! I expected the total importation fee's etc..to be at least $50,000 to $75,000,that is my budget.
I guess the hard part is finding a person willing to get them overseas.
I don't think it will be an more difficult to import in to Hawaii than any other state...

What breed of LF chicken has the chocolate gene in them?
Do ameraucanas have them ? Do those larger layer breeds have them?
If so,what breed has them?
Thanks!
Gunieas would be nice.I've been looking for a while but no one seems to have the here in Hawaii.I'll try both and see if it works.
Is the garlic oil just rubbed on where the ticks are?
Just some random thoughts that I could think of off the top of my head;
You could try to make the chicks "peep" as loud as they can and see if their mother comes.(It's a noise that annoys me very much and it usually happens when I pick the chick up while it tries to call it's momma)
You...
First my dogs had this and now my chickens have this.
These ecto parasites are very tiny maybe a mm long. But they are bigger than mites. They are mostly brown in color. On my dogs they simply hang on around the face and any open skin on their belly. On my chickens they were on around the face...
