Sorry that honey isn't an option... I saw a recipe somewhere that used apple juice concentrate instead of a sweetener in an apple butter. Would that work?
Thanks for helping with the apple pie search!
I saw a while back that someone was looking for jams without sugar. If honey is an option I made Peach Plum Honey Jam today and it came out super tasty! I poster the recipe here: http://artmamasays.blogspot.com/2013/09/peach-plum-honey-jam.html
I am currently in search of a good Apple Pie...
If you have had ENOUGH of baking for the holiday but still find yourself in need of more treats to share I posted a super easy recipe for Oreo Mint Bark on my blog. My kids like it so much I told them they had learned how to make it themselves - and they did...
I've never made soap - mostly because the initial invesment of materials always seemed so high. can you suggest a 'cheap' first kind I could try making?
I made my Grandmother's cider pie for Thanksgiving. I had forgotten how easy it is to make and YUMMY to eat! I am not sure it even counts as baking as the filling is done on the stove-top. I posted a pic and a link on how-to on my blog: http://artmamasays.blogspot.com/2012/11/grandmas-cider-pie.html
It has a low melting point, so it looks like Crisco in the store where there is AC but might look like water when you get your groceries out of the car. Repeated change in state doesn't seem to effect the flavor at all.
I only started using Coconut Oil recently. You can taste it in baked goods (in oatmeal cookies sounds great). So far my experience has been good.

I always see ways to use zucchini, but rarely other types of summer squash... I decided I should change that and came up with a recipe for Yogurt, Apple & Summer Squash Muffins. I used coconut oil - the flavor underlines the apple nicely, but if you don't have any butter works just fine...
My cousin posted a recipe for Zucchini Cupcakes that uses Orange Juice and Almond Extract that I gave a shot yesterday. They came out of the oven just before lunch and by bed time there were just 3 left... Granted I have a teenage boy in the house, but it is rare that a batch of anything goes...
We got 5 pounds of nectarines in our CSA share this week - then I ended up with a bunch more that were damaged. I had to come up with a quick use for the damaged ones so I made Ginger Nectarine Jam. It came out super tasty. I posted the recipe on my blog. It is no pectin and low sugar (for jam...
Zucchini Peach Bread is the new favorite at our house. I make it with a bit of oatmeal, which gives it a unique and hearty texture. The recipe (and a pic) is here if anyone wants to give it a try: http://artmamasays.blogspot.com/2012/08/zucchini-peach-bread.html
Zucchini Peach Bread!!! http://artmamasays.blogspot.com/2012/08/zucchini-peach-bread.html Both are in season here in NY.
The little bit of oatmeal gives this a unique texture and makes it a bit more filling. We have been eating it a breakfast on the go. YUM!
it makes me smile each time this post gets a comment because I know that someone out there got the smile they were hoping for! Thanks to all for taking a peek!
