My son is a comp. tech and he HATES vista......he installed Ubuntu on my puter and works good..no complaints.....again....HATES VISTA this is him..... Vista????
I had the same thing happen to a seemingly healthy hen.. No wounds, no way any predator could get to her...she had been acting fine.....the only thing I can think of, is worms...she had a problem a few months prior to her death....who knows?
I had a hen die suddenly like that. SHe was fine when she went to bed, and the next morning, I went out to let them out, and she was stiff as a board. The only thing I can think of is that previously, like about four months prior, she had worms and I neglected to do anything about it because...
I am so sorry for your loss...no one can say that you didn't do EVERYTHING for this little chick. She was fortunate that she belonged to you, because there are many who wouldn't have cared so much. She looks just like my "Cheezy" who I have raised from a baby. I hope that someone can figure...
I always close the coop up until they are just ready to go in...snakes go in there and wait for them. I lost a girl to a black snake that tried to eat her but of course she was too big. He suffocated her and left her there. Her head was all slimy and wet. Then another black snake coiled...

See? Now this is really being GREEN. We are using the wasting body of a dead animal for ANOTHER PURPOSE. REPURPOSING!!! Even the hippies will love this idea!
This post was under the "I hate dogs" post below. It was posted by Rufus and is the best idea I've heard of in a long time....

The dead skunk thing is the smartest idea I have heard of in a LONG time. It's pure genius. Doesn't harm the dog (physically), gets the point across to the idiot neighbor, and gives you a chuckle all at the same time. Brilliant.
Glenda Heywood, who posts here very frequently and seems well educated on the raising of chickens posted an answer to another question a while back....

Well....they survived just fine. It actually was 45 degrees when I got up this morning. They seemed to be fine. So...I guess they are out for good! Thank the Lord!!!! I still haven't completely mixed them in with the big girls...they are still separated. But at least they are OUT OF MY...
I have been putting them out with the big girls for several days now, but separated in a smaller pen within the big pen. My husband let them walk around with the girls today and there was a little pecking, but nothing serious. They are in a very tight, but ventilated rubbermaid storage shed...
My babies are six weeks old and I really want them out with the big girls. It will be 55 tonight and they have all their feathers (except a few stragglers of down around their necks). Will they be alright with no heat lamp?
I would make sure she is warm enough, then give her more water with sugar in it to pep her up. It make take her a while to recover. THe same thing happened to a friend of mine yesterday. Her baby was missing for two days and they found it stuck between a cinder block and the house. It was...
