I'm thinking of raising some coturnix quail, what is the monthly cost for them. Also, I would like to see some quail coop plans, i couldn't find a good one for three quails. :D
Thanks!
I was digging in the backyard looking for worms for my chickens, and I came apon a little cavern in the ground. I looked inside and there were naked newborn mice inside. I've been hearing scrabbling and squeaking when watering my garden and I can hear scrabbling now. I can only see one right...
I was wondering whether you could breed crickets or mealworms for chickens. Mealworms and crickets are expensive and for $5 you only get a handful. So I was thinking, maybe if you bought a cup and waited until they matured, would they breed?
Thanks!!
I don't think that's why because we give them plenty of treats ( watermelon, grapes, peaches, seeds, mealworms, etc. ) but they toss those around too...
:)
Yeah, it's in the sun, so maybe that's why... But I live in a really sunny area so if I put my watering can in the shade there would be less room for my chickens too cool down in.. By the way it's made out of plastic. I'll try the apple cider vinegar.
My chickens like to fling food all over the ground.(a natural chicken behavior, no doubt) I've tried putting bricks under the feeder and trash bags under the feeder but they still end up wasting half of their food... Should I get a hanging feeder or is there another option?
Thanks!!

How do you keep the algae from growing in the watering cans? I scrub all the algae out every time I change their water, but I don't use soap because some people say you shouldn't. I don't mind scrubbing it out, but if there's a more convenient way, I'd love to hear your advice!
Thanks !!
Unfortunately, the ants have discovered that a chicken coop is a good source of food. How do you keep the ants away without using chemicals harmful to chickens?
Thanks!! :)
Is the crop of a chicken slighty more to the right? Because whenever my chickens eat the right part of the breast is more fat than the left.
(Don't tell anyone at first I thought my chicken had a tumor. But then I remembered that chickens have crops. Whoops!) :)
Thanks!
