I've never had to deal with a mink thus far. So sorry for all of your losses! Good luck to you! Necropsy is expensive here too. I've heard some states do it for free. Lucky people! I have one duck that the vet had to amputate a toe on. The current duck is not a candidate for amputation...- duckitup

Avian Flu.
Makes me wonder if back yard flocks are the answer.......if we didn't have highly concentrated barns full of chickens that never see the light of day or grass under their feet, perhaps, just perhaps, where it begins and spreads, eventually to all of us..... would be eliminated.- duckitup

I'm so sorry that you lost her. Mine is still eating some but just not enough. We have been tube feeding once to three times a day. All depending on when I have help or not. I can't do it alone, she is too wiggly. Mine has an infection in her ankle joint which started this whole thing...- duckitup

I live around some old schooled farmers as well. You may need to "think" like them to get through to her. Here are a couple of ideas.... Many farmers get rid of their excess animals before winter sets in so they won't have to feed them. So perhaps you could approach her on that note...
