Some of them we offer for free and are very clear on their age. Some get eaten. And a select few get to retire here and spend the rest of their days bossing the younger ladies around. No, it's never easy. She was ready to go though, she said it was her time. I write epic fantasy (dragons...

...with it. As soon as we turned on the sprinkler for the afternoon, they would all run to stand in it. We also appear to have another cat. Not because I want another cat, but because he seems to want us. *sigh* I can't turn him away so it looks like I will be hauling a cat in to be neutered...

Mine are doing great it in. We did extend it to make it bigger. I wish I could have a huge area for them, but we're in town so there is only so much space for chickens, geese, dogs, garden, and space for children to play.

Al is wonderful! I absolutely LOVE the Swedish Flowers. I'm going to have to get more of them when I make more room. Right now we have Black Star, Red Star, Partridge Rock, Buttercup, Polish, and the Swedish Flowers.

Wow, I guess it's been a while since I've been here but everything got really busy and some things got pushed to the back burner. All of the chickens wintered over well. We did put the heat lamps we use for new chicks in the chicken house over the nests during the coldest parts of the winter. I...

I love their color too. It's such a beautiful mix of cream, tan, and brown. This is the first time in three years we've had much in the way of grass. The drought was so bad, all we had was some scraggly, crunchy weeds. But the rain came back this year and with it the grass and its so thick! I...

Thank you Here on the plains, with as much rain as we've had this year, the grass is really lush. So are the weeds but they seem to like the weeds too. In fact, they were so busy eating, I had trouble getting them to look towards me so I could get a pic.

Sounds like y'all have been busy! We've been working on getting the goose house up. For now they go into a stall in our garden shed at night. We picked about 50 lbs of sandhill plums. Already have ten jars of jelly and four and half gallons of juice left over. We've ran more cannerfuls of...

Sounds like Murphy's Law is working against both of you in opposite ways. Sorry about your garden, Okjenyp, it's amazing how quickly chickens can tear it up. Danz, hopefully your chickens find their way through the gate eventually.
