Alright, thank you, everyone. I got her toe to stop bleeding. I managed to get some styptic powder on her, but she did pull off the bandage that I put on her foot. On the bright side, she is eating extremely well.
Did anyone use neosporin for this type of wound before? I heard it’s usually used on the foot, but I have it with me right now so wondering if it’s good on the toes
It’s good to hear that it cleared up for your hen! Yes, mine is a blue laced Wyandotte with pretty clean feet, besides having dirt on it. Do u think I should wrap her toe in anything to prevent her from picking on it after putting medicine?
Hello, I’m requesting some help for my hen that injured her toenail today. I think she got it stuck on a bite of wire while jumping off the roof of the chicken coop. I think the bleeding has stopped but is there anything I should put on her would to help her?
She’s been laying for a while now. I think this year she should be at least 4.
I give them crumble feed, oats, and have recently been giving some boiled egg to them too. They also enjoy getting some crushed eggshell, but I don’t do oyster shell. Sometimes they get let out to forage for...
Monitoring her for the moment. As of right now, she’s being a normal chicken and eating well, along with digging around. She seemed excited to be let outside too.
A soft shelled egg was just laid by one of my blue laced wynadottes and I found that it was mixed with blood. Sorry, there was some bedding that got stuck with it in the picture below. I never seen this happen beforehand, but any ideas on what it could be? I should also add that the blood isn’t...
I offered some mushy food yesterday with some acv, but both hens didn't seem to like it. I'll try again later with just water and crumble. I saw her drink a good amount of water last night just before bed. As for her diet, she seems to have taken a liking to a goji berry tree I have in my...
Hello all. Yesterday, one of my blue laced Wyandottes was acting a little strange. Her wings were hanging a little low from her body, while her droppings all contained sort of yellowish urates. She had also held her tail a bit lower than usual.
When I let her out, she wasn’t moving around as...
She has passed. It’s not the first time I’ve lost a hen put it was so hard watching her condition worsen. She was fine the 1st few days, but she became unable to walk, and would start eating less even though she loved to eat before. Her name was Camila and she was such a good friend, I’ll love...
thank you, I’ve helped this hen many times before and am sad that she’s going through this. I wish there was more I could do but it is what it is at the end of the day. She’s an old girl :(:hugs
Yes im working on the mites right now. I’m not too informed on Mareks but yes, I thought it could be a cause due to her legs. Other hens are walking just fine.
Her crop is emptying and i can show pictures of her droppings in a second.
As for vitamins, what are some recommendations? She doesn’t...
