are your Siamese registered? Or are they just cats with Siamese markings? I ask because most folks who claim to have Siamese really just have DSHs that just happen to have Siamese markings.
If they are NOT registered...you will find it nearly impossible to sell any...unless the buyer is just...
There are five common reasons cats do this: unfixed, dirty litterbox, unhappy with litterbox in general (litter choice, box shape, location), UTI and stress. You have ruled out unfixed, and dirty litter box.
After you rule out UTI, consider any possible stress factors. New people in the house...
Thanks guys. I think I may end up getting a few of each like Suzie suggested. Best of both worlds. :)
Now...does anybody know of any breeders in North Florida that produces runners or those lavender muscovies (or who can ship)? I didn't even know they existed!
Dreambird...if you can, I would LOVE to see a step by step of one of your pictures. Not technical at all, but like...sketch/linework, inking, shading, coloring. Your work and use of atmospheric conditions is phenomenal.
Hi from Old Town Florida! (That's Dixie County, about 45 miles north east of Gainesville)
Looking for local breeders of non-hatchery poultry. Particularly Americaunas, mille fluer d'uccle, copper marans, and runner ducks. Show quality not neccesary, but I am interested in good, healthy stock.
Yep, Florida, :) I always thought muscovies had THE best personalities...even though all the ones I've met were wild, they were always willing to be friends with anyone who fed them lol. I just love the "hiss" vocalization and the head bobs. So much personality. :)
I've been seriously considering a flock of ducks, and Indian runners are on the top of the list. It's between them and muscovies.
Now...I've done the whole google search for info on this breed, but all I can find are very brief paragraph-long breed description, and all those generally give are...
I know nothing about keeping these guys caged, but they live wild around here (they're so prolific they're considered a nuisance species to be rounded up and killed on site :( ) And I can tell you that most of these ducks can and do fly VERY well, male and female both.
I'm still undecided as to...
Ditto to the above. Seems that for the most part, muscovy ducklings stay the same color they are as adults. Whatever parts are yellow on a duckling will be white on a duck, whatever parts are black/brown on a duckling will be black/brown on a duck. Unlike other breeds/species, muscovy ducklings...
there's several siamese rescues, google will find them for you. :)
However, there are two issues: rescues don't take owner surrenders. They don't take pets from people who just "don't want them anymore". They rescue pets from dangerous situations such as abuse, neglect, or from high kill...
BTW--I have a cat (actually I have 10) but this cat (who is not even remotely part siamese or any other typically "vociferous" breed...and he is noisy as all get out. He walks around the house yowling. He stands outside of whatever door I'm behind...yowling at me. I hate that he does this. I...
there is a big difference between "spraying" and "peeing on the floor". When a cat sprays, he squirts a small amount of amore concentrated, oily urine horizontilly onto a vertical surface (like a wall, door, cabinet, etc.). When a cat pees on the floor, it's not "marking", it's usually a sign...
There was a reason I worded the question the way I did...she said "his coloring wasn't quite right" that's what led me to ask in the first place. If she had answerd the question, "He was merled, but not like a heeler." then I could deduce that he was a regular merle. "If she had said "Yes, he...
nono, sorry, lol...molies, platies, swordtails, guppies and goldfish are all commonly captive bred. Anything that comes in color or fin shape varieties is captive bred. So...oscars are generally captive bred for example. tiger barbs for example...the albino and green versions are captive bred...
