Carr, if you're looking for a place more active than it is here recently head over there. I posted yesterday at 9am that she needed a home and by noon I met a lovely lady wanting a friend for her lone grey pom gander. She's got a lovely new home and I have a new connection for trading bloodlines...
Admin, if this is misplaced please let me know. I have a 5 week old Buff Pomeranian female gosling in need of a home. I'm not asking payment for her, just a good home. I live in northern illinois. Message me for more info and pictures. Thank you!
Well, since activity here seems to have dropped, I'll be posting further information in the Pomeranian Goose Breeders club on Facebook, I guess. I'll come back when the sites active again.
Hmm. This site has really dropped since I was last really active here. That's sad. I had thought there'd be several responses by now. Where'd everybody go??
So I've been looking online for an accurate photo of what the parent geese to my new goslings looked like, and I'm not having much luck. He said they were Buff Poms, but the pictures don't fit? Where "Buff" is like a peanut-butter type color, his geese were FAR lighter, almost like a coffee...
Hard to tell from that angle, but American Buff perhaps? I would need more of a side view pic to know better. Here is someone here's pic of an American Buff, about that age for reference.
A side note, and a question, Lol.
I named them for reasons, but I was consistant they had to have C names, Lol.
Carma, because I believe that good karma comes to those who wait. I waited so long for my babies, and she is by far the sweetest one.
Captain, because he (I think) stands tall and...
My new babies are here!!!!
I ended up lucking out at the swap again this year, this time BUFF POMERANIANS! Not only did he have babies, but adults as well. They were GORGEOUS! He knew what he had this time, so I didn't get another $5 deal Lol. I'm no good at sexing, and he wasn't positive, so...
PS...For his sake (take your heart out of it for the moment, even though it's hard to) ..Please remember that geese bond FOR LIFE. The longer you have him the deeper the bond he'll have with you. If there is ANY doubt about a very large, very messy, very loud bird, PLEASE rehome him now while he...
I'm going to post in the opposite direction. I am Mom of a single house goose. She will be a year old next month. She's been spoiled and loved from a day old, and even now that she's nesting and laying an egg every other day, she is a well adjusted, happy, healthy, and affectionate goose.
Few...
So then breeding two offspring that exhibit the dimorphic gene would increase the chance of dimorphic young, right? Hmm...Hope DH won't mind some expanding...Lol!
It scared the poo out of me when my Cassy just stood there, shook, and half her feathers fell off! Luckily everyone here quickly reassured me its completely normal, or I might have lost my mind! Lol
Ok, here's what I guess from reading online and using the goose color calculator. Please correct me if this is wrong? If I cross my Pom goose (pied gene) to a Cotton Patch gander (dimorphic, white but carries pied gene) the results should be dimorphic young, resembling CP goslings indentifiable...
