Interesting, my chickens are free range and are pretty healthy...and the don't eat the feathers (just pick them off when cleaning themselves), so I don't think its from that. =)
My booted bantams do fine, I live in Clatskanie OR and its wet in the spring and winter. When my bantam hens think the feathers get too long, the peck them off until their feet look like marans boots. :)
My fluffy white chicken gets dirtier than my booted chickens :cd
=)
I have only sold horses before, what is it like to lease a horse out, when its in their care and property? Can the horse be stollen? Dpis it simple? Do you have to do a bunch of this and that?
Thanks for the help!
Great! I have a whole 50 pound bag of kelp I feed my sheep and horse. Is mashed fish (smelt) OK for geese besides chicks and ducks?
Thanks for the info!
Hmm..I once had a female bantam duck laying lots of eggs and one day she had something like that and stayed like that for a week or so and died. =(
Hope she/he gets well! Oh try to contact John Metzer! He is great at answering poultry questions! At Metzer Farms

I get interests fast on CL
Well the little goose died :hit poor thing. Too quickly.
had been feeding millet, grass, dandelion, plantain, clover, smashed oats and crushed fish with an occasional boiled egg.
Well I guess I still need advice for the rest of the geese, this is my first year with them by the way.
